What can I expect when my child begins teething?

There are wide variances in timing, but many babies will begin to show signs of tooth eruption around 4 months of age and actual tooth eruption around 6 months of age (usually one of the bottom front teeth).

There are many signs and symptoms of teething to look for. Your child may begin drooling, chewing on solid objects, become irritable or cranky, have difficulty sleeping and have sore or tender gums.
